Pedro's career began in automotive engineering, however he chose to follow in his uncle's footsteps, learning to carve stone, where he swiftly moved into producing gallery quality carvings in his native Zimbabwe. His career path once again took a different direction when a short trip to visit a friend in Cape Town in 2000 became permanent, and an over saturated stone carving market necessitated finding a more lucrative art form for which he could pursue. His friend introduced him to wire art; an art form that took him him only one week to learn, and he has never looked back. Pedro jokes that his early work was 'rough', but time, practice and the creation of a new technique created for the 2009 Design Indaba show paid off, and increasing his exposure as an artist. The same wire art technique developed for the Design Indaba show is the one he continues to use to this day.
Bespoke pieces can also be designed upon request and consultation. MisHMasH can work together with the client and Pedro to facilitate creation of the item.
