Aretha Doyle of Cool Tabs Accessories

Creating wearable art from salvaged pull tabs

We met Aretha Doyle in 2017 at her inspirational little booth in the Watershed at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, and were stunned by what she was doing with re-purposed pull tabs.

Cool Tabs was born when Aretha found herself collecting soda can tabs for a local charity, however,  after having troubles locating the organization, she decided to use the tabs to make a small purse/handbag for herself.  What started with one bag has become a sustainable and profitable business re-purposing soda can tabs and transforming them into salvaged sustainable fashion accessories.

We are so pleased to carry Aretha's beautiful but simple little pull tab bracelets and small Christmas Decorations, however we would be doing her a serious injustice if we failed to point out that we carry the simplest pieces she creates.

Take a journey to Cool Tabs and discover just how talented this inspirational artisan is.

As with so may of the artisans we represent, special requests for products we don't usually carry or custom orders are often possible, so please don't hesitate to contact us if you find a piece you like but is not currently on offer here.

Orders we place outside our standard shipping dates of Mid-October would be subject to additional shipping charges.
